Expressive Control with the Sensel Morph and the Buchla Thunder Overlay

With MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE), it’s now possible to play electronic instruments with the expressiveness of acoustic instruments. But which interface is best for this natural and expressive method of performance? Drawing on the legacy on synth and performance interface pioneer Don Buchla, Sensel has partnered with Buchla USA to create the Buchla Thunder Overlay for Sensel Morph, an intuitive and expressive new controller.

The session will include demonstrations of the Buchla Thunder Overlay and Sensel Morph on both virtual (computer) and hardware instruments, plus a look at some of the other overlays for the Morph (including the custom, maker-friendly Innovator’s Overlay). We invite any attending artists to get hands-on with the Morph!
