Informed by a creator’s unique set of circumstances and experiences, the act of art-making comes with signatures, with a style, a personality and meaning—sometimes explicit, other times not. Now that we are at a point in the evolution of digital arts where the tools are no longer the star, or the primary sensation in artworks, we can begin to consider the personal language of the author, details at the level of the self, and to locate the humanity and soul in their work. What influences manifest in their pieces? Where do they see themselves in their aesthetic inclinations? How is meaning constructed in non-narrative environments? This series of presentations features digital, audiovisual artists based here in Montréal, who are also part of the Keychange::Amplify project which will see them performing their work in Latin America and the UK, as this initiative continues over the next few months.
This event takes place in English.
For those of you not able to attend in person, we invite you to be at the symposium by connecting to the live stream.
