Magdalena Olszanowski is an artist, activist, faculty in Media Arts at John Abbott College and PhD Candidate in Communication Studies at Concordia University. She has led numerous workshops for people aged 2 to 99 on various image and sound technologies. Her academic and
artistic work concerning gender, sound and image technologies can be found in journals such as Feminist Media Studies, nomorepotlucks and Visual Communication Quarterly. Her dissertation is focused on feminist internet art histories of the 1990s. She recently co-edited a special issue on women and electronic music with Rebekah Farrugia for dancecult: Journal of electronic dance music culture. She is also currently working on microfemininewarfare, a documentary featuring women experimental electronic music composers. She has VJed internationally since 2008.
