susy.technology operates as a collective of artists based in Montréal (Tio'tia:ke). Founded in 2015 by Milo Reinhardt (/||\||\) and Teodoro Zamudio, susy.technology has since expanded to include Cat Lamoureux (Valeda) and Xavier Arocha (Witnessing). Their creative endeavours span the converging spheres of music, digital art, performance, sound design, and projection mapping. Responses to gendered violence and personal trauma, technological dependencies, border politics and Digital Death are at the core of their recent performances and online releases. The collective has developed audio-visual and installation works for MUTEK Montreal, La Société des arts technologiques, Red Bull Music Academy, Never Apart, Forms Festival, and Sight + Sound festival. susy.technology was awarded a prize as a finalist in MUTEK’s Next Era Audio-Visual Contest in 2017.
Collective members Xavier Arocha, Milo Reinhardt and Cat Lamoureux are all alumni of Red Bull Music Academy residencies, and in 2017 Teo Zamudio and Milo Reinhardt participated in an artist residency at the SAT. Following the presentation of Indivisible, the immersive artwork created during the SAT residency, they presented solo musical performances accompanied by fulldome projections in the context of a susy.technology showcase at the Société des Arts Technologiques.
In 2018, susy.technology presented a group show at Eastern Bloc featuring a video installation, a Virtual Reality experience, and live audio-visual performances. Their piece Indivisible was showcased at Sonar festival in June 2018, and the collective will premiere a live, extended rendition for MUTEK Montreal in August 2018.
